Munich – 11 September 2012: Located in Argolida province, around 120 kilometers west of Athens, close to the national grid, the two parks of two MW each occupy almost 100,000 m2 and are expected to generate around 5,500 MWh (5.5 GWh) annually.
“At REC, we are delighted to supply modules for the installation of these solar projects for EuroEnergy in record time,” said Pierre Cesbron, Business Development Manager UK for REC Solar.
He added: “We expect the plant to operate efficiently for more than twenty years. It is a great achievement given the mountainous terrain and the challenges involved in reaching the site. As always, we are committed to providing award-winning solar modules to our partners and to ensuring the highest standards of service.”
Project owner EuroEnergy began working with REC in February 2012, with the project commencing in July and deliveries finalised a month later. Christos Reveliotis, CEO of EuroEnergy, commented: “REC has a strong reputation in the market and the experience of working with them has been efficient, professional and co-operative.”
REC supplied 10,680 REC Peak Energy 240 W modules and 4,600 REC Peak Energy 250 modules to complete the two installations. The company provides a 25-year warranty for solar modules. REC modules were ranked first in Photon Laboratory’s 2011 module field performance test, producing on average six percent more energy than competing modules and have an energy payback time of one year.
