Float Zone (FZ) Polysilicon

Green energy technologies such as solar, wind and hybrid electric vehicles favor FZ silicon-based components for voltage transmission, motor control and power conversion. Most high-performance power management devices preferentially use Float Zone polysilicon due to the intrinsically low levels of impurities.

All our FZ products are double-wrapped in virgin polyethylene (PE) film for clean room use.

PRODUCT AND FORM FACTORS:

As-grown FZ rods

  • Size: 90-170mm diameter.
  • Standard Resistivity (NTD or gas-doped crystal growth, High Resistivity (NTD or un-doped crystals), Low-Power2 (gas-doped crystal growth).

Machined FZ rods

  • Size: 110-160mm diameter.
  • Machined to a uniform cylinder - needs to be coned, ring-ditched & etched before zoning.
  • Maximum bend/bow ≤2mm.
  • Max. ellipticity 1mm.
  • Max. diameter variation ≤2mm.
  • Standard Resistivity: 4k-9kohm-cm.
  • High Resistivity: >10kohm-cm.
  • LP2 FZ: 1.5-2.5kohm-cm.
  • Highly uniform cylinders with smooth surface minimizes product losses due to rod prep activities and increased FPY success for users.
